Gigalight Releases Low Power Version of the Second Generation 100G QSFP28 Series

Recently Gigalight has officially released low power version of the second generation 100G QSFP28 series products: 100G QSFP28 SR4 optical transceiver and 100G QSFP28 Active Optical Cable. These new products will be introduced with Live Demo at the 41th OFC-the Optical Fiber Communication Exhibition in America.


Under CDR working condition, 100G QSFP28 SR4 GEN2 low power version shows its power consumption in room temperature is 2W and in 70℃is 2.2W, which meet consumption level of SFF-8436 V4.8 MSA Power level 3 MAX POWER 2.5W. Conforms to IEEE 802.3bm 100GBASE SR4, InfiniBand EDR, and 32GFC protocol standard, It also has downward compatibility to 10GE, completely useful for OM3 fiber 75m transfer and OM4 fiber 100m transfer. In actual test environment, according to stricter BER test standard(<15th power), no any bit error is found in transferring OM4 fiber. 100G QSFP28 SR4 uses Gigalight original lens and optical engine technology, integrates duplex 4 way 25Gbps data channel, and supports digital diagnosis. 100G QSFP28 SR4 optical module also owns excellent eye pattern, receive sensitivity and electric eye joggle performance.
