Gigslight Launched 25GE SFP28 SR Optical Transceiver Module

Description
Gigalight Technology GSS-MP0250-SRC is a single-Channel, Pluggable, Fiber-Optic SFP28 for 25 Gigabit Ethernet and Infiniband EDR Applications. It is a high performance module for short-range data communication and interconnect applications which operate at 25.78125 Gbps up to 70 m using OM3 fiber or 100 m using OM4 fiber. This module is designed to operate over multimode fiber systems using a nominal wavelength of 850nm. The electrical interface uses a 20 contact edge type connector. Gigalight Starts Batch Production of 40G QSFP GEN2 Optical Transceiver

Gigalight announced last Friday it’s gone into the batch production of their newly released 40G QSFP GEN2 optical transceiver. The main difference between 40G QSFP GEN2 and existing 40G QSFP on the market lies in the multichannel real-time DDM function, which is easy to realize for transceivers with data rate lower than 10Gbps, but very complicated for those more than 10Gbps, as the latter is mostly based on COB not TO packaging technique. As for parallel high-speed optical transceiver with higher rate, it requires excellent design and precise layout to realize optic circuit detection on 4-channel or 12-channel array light chip in an extremely limited space, which has been met by Gigalight patented optical engine technology. Starting optical engine technology development since 2011, now by its own endeavor and cooperation with quality suppliers, Gigalight has gained rich experience and unique technology about array LENS development and integrated optical devices coupling capsulation. It is a critical mission for Gigalight R&D long-term works that realizing multichannel optical power DDM real-time monitoring of high-speed parallel optical module. Lack of optical power real-time monitoring does not influence optical modules regular operation; however Gigalight‘s been striving to create product higher than industry standard and holds firm pursuit of optical module complete functions, and finally they reach this goal.

“Multichannel parallel optical power real-time monitoring means more to optical network than single-channel transceiver, because any one channel of multichannel module having problem would lead to overall failure. With optical power monitoring loopback, engineers can design power automatic feedback compensation circuit, enable the modules adjust to wider temperature range and poor external environment. Multichannel simultaneous monitoring also assures vector compliance of every path. It says that Gigalight new launched GEN2 optical module will not largely increase clients’ purchasing cost. The bulk price of GEN1 and GEN2 almost reach equilibrium, even GEN2 module is a truly flawless product compliant with related standards. Gigalight launched this new product at CIOE in September 2015, and now plans to completely switch the generation products in the first half of 2016.


Gigalight Exhibited Data Center Optical Interconnection Achievements at OFC 2016

Data center optical interconnect technology innovator--Gigalight exhibited the recently-launched low power optical interconnect products at the coming OFC Expo  (booth 2725) in Anaheim Convention Center, California, USA.


(1) Low-power 100 Gb/s QSFP8-SR4 optical transceiver and 100G QSFP28 AOC: its power dissipation of room temperature is only 2W, of 70is 2.2W, which compliant with MAX POWER 2.5W standard of SFF-8436 V4.8 MSA Power Level 3.

(2) Low-power 100Gb/s CFP2-SR10 optical transceiver: designed for use in 100Gbps Ethernet and OTN OUT-4 data rate, it adopts 10x 10Gbps parallel fiber channel, has built-in 10 channel VCSEL and PIN array technology, link length of 100m on OM3 and 150m on OM4. Digital diagnostics functions are available via an MDIO interface. It supports network loopback test and software status machine. The max power dissipation in regular temperature is no more than 5.8W, and in total temperature range less than 7W.

(3) Low-power 40Gb/s QSFP+ SR4 GEN2 optical transceiver: the main advantage of this new module compared to the market popular 40G QSFP module is the multi-channel optical power DDM function, which guaranteed the module specification compliance via real-time monitoring compensation. Its power dissipation is only 1.5W.

(4) Low power & cost 25GE SFP28 SR optical transceiver and AOC: this module has DDM TX POWER real-time monitoring function based on COB craft and Gigalight patented optical engine technology. It is designed with the industrial latest CDR, to realize 25GBASE-SR Ethernet compatible and link length up to 100m on OM4. The popular 10Gb/s SFP+ form factor enables it to increase 2.5 times of the bandwidth under the same port density. Its overall consumption is less than 0.7W and single channel sensitivity is -11dBm. 25GE SFP28 and 100G QSFP28 constitute the ecological foundation of next generation data center interchangers.

(5) Low power & cost 40G QSFP PSM LR4(10km) optical transceiver: with COB craft and Gigalight patented optical engine technology, optical coupling efficiency so up to 30% that reduce the module power dissipation. The module is adopted in structure with vertical channel cooling design, in POWER transmitting terminal with new software algorithm, in electric circuit with excellent integrated IC, so that complete software states design. These design advantages ensure module total dissipation is around 2.5W (class 3), four channel eye mask MARGIN is over 30%, and sensitivity better than -14dBm.
